Benetas is excited to announce that we will be delivering
services to a new cohort of people, living in the Latrobe, Baw Baw and Hepburn shires, who are eligible to be part of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

Benetas has a solid track record of delivering CHSP services to customers in regional Victoria, in Loddon Mallee and Gippsland, as well as metropolitan Melbourne.

Currently, Benetas operates in a number of council areas and shires, including the; City of Casey, City of Frankston, City of Knox, City of Whitehorse and Macedon Ranges Shire.

CHSP is an entry-level home support programme that helps older people to live
independently in their homes and communities. It also provides respite services to give carers a break. The programme aims to:

  • Help people live as independently as possible
  • Focus on working with them, rather than doing things for them
  • Provide a starting point for discussions about other levels of support and care people may need over time.

The services, which are now being offered by Benetas, were previously offered by the shire councils in the respective regions.

Benetas is opening new offices in Daylesford, Traralgon and Warragul, providing hubs for customers, and bases for our team members.

Benetas CEO, Sandra Hills OAM, outlines what the new service delivery means for Victorians, she said, “Our team at Benetas know it is a real privilege to be invited into someone’s home, and we never take this for granted. To partner with someone, and support them so that they can live an independent life is extremely fulfilling.

“Being appointed by the Commonwealth to deliver additional CHSP services reflects our trusted position that has been earned over many years.

“This trust is due in part to the way we interact with our customers. We respect and value differences in nationality, race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, social background, disability, family or marital status, age and political opinion.

“Key to our success is employing caring and passionate team members, and recognising that what they do matters. They in turn provide quality services, to our customers.

“The good news is that we’re currently looking for some new team members, across the Latrobe, Baw Baw and Hepburn shires to do a range of jobs. We also welcome enquiries from people who are interested in volunteering.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new customers, employees and volunteers and I look forward to meeting you in coming days.”
