Published on 24 July 2025

In a significant move to expand its presence in the aged care sector, Regis Healthcare has acquired Rockpool RAC Holdings Pty Ltd for $135 million. The deal, announced on 24 July 2025, sees Regis take over Rockpool’s four premium residential aged care homes, adding 600 beds to its portfolio.

These facilities, located in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, strengthen Regis’ footprint in South-East Queensland, a region known for its growing demand for high-quality aged care services.

The acquisition brings Regis’ total portfolio to 72 homes, with approximately 8,200 beds, cementing its position as a leading provider in Australia’s aged care industry. Funded through existing cash reserves, the transaction is expected to be finalised on 1 September 2025. According to Regis, the deal is projected to boost earnings per share in the 2026 financial year, with further growth anticipated in subsequent years.

Linda Mellors, Regis’ Managing Director and CEO, highlighted the strategic importance of the acquisition, stating, “This move aligns perfectly with our goal to expand our network by acquiring top-tier aged care homes.” The addition of Rockpool’s facilities, known for their premium offerings, complements Regis’ focus on delivering high-quality care and accommodation to elderly Australians.

Market analysts have responded positively to the news, with Regis Healthcare’s stock (AU:REG) receiving a “Buy” rating and a price target of A$5.00. The company, which operates with a market capitalisation of A$2.24 billion, continues to attract investor interest due to its strong growth strategy and operational scale. With an average trading volume of 698,095 shares, Regis remains a prominent player in the healthcare sector.

This acquisition underscores Regis Healthcare’s intent to meeting the evolving needs of Australia’s ageing population while enhancing its market position through strategic investments in premium aged care facilities.
