Environmental sustainability is at the forefront of BaptistCare NSW, ACT and WA’s mind as the aged care and community services provider has announced a ten-year deal to purchase renewable energy and reduce its carbon footprint.

Despite most aged care residents thinking they would have left school behind them decades ago, a group of Melbourne residents have been brushing up on their science, technology, engineering and maths with a little help from an AI robot called Abi.

Many aged care organisations are working on their readiness for Governance reforms. The creation of advisory bodies is particularly topical as this is the first time they have been regulated as part of the Governance system in a funded program.

Mirus’ November Industry Analysis Data release has revealed the industry has surpassed an important milestone: the sector-wide care minute average of 200 minutes per resident per day. This has been achieved thanks to an almost 5% increase in care minutes in the month of October, although stagnating Registered Nurse minutes mean there’s still work to be done.

App-based technology streamlines the facility management process, enabling quicker response times to maintenance requests. With a centralised system, facility managers can prioritise and address issues promptly, ensuring the safety and comfort of the residents.
