Aged care facilities have come a long way in recent years – pulling away from the cold and clinical feel and moving towards emulating a homely environment for residents.
More and more Australian employers are considering the diversity of their workforce and looking to create an inclusive environment for their people. Staff that identify as LGBTI are increasingly looking for employers that are supportive and where they don’t need to hide their true selves in fear of rejection and prejudice.
A successful aged care provider needs to know what its strengths and weaknesses are, including those of its staff. You cannot provide high-quality care if your staff are lacking the appropriate skills, attributes or opportunities to develop.
